This is a terrific introduction to modern art. The book is divided up into the following sections: Movements, The Works, Themes, and Techniques. Each page has useful cross references at the bottom of the page so that the reader can explore across the above mentioned sections for each highlighted work. The paper is thick glossy paper and the binding is well made. The only improvements that I would make would be to increase the size of the book so that each artwork could be viewed in greater detail. The measurements of the book are 5 7/8 X 8 1/2. The only other "gripe" is that the gold-embossed spine flakes at the edges. However, I still recommend this book for beginners and veteran art lovers alike.
